Sam requested that the Sheriff’s Office create a map for traffic crashes since the TVF&R data only represents when they are called in for potential serious injury accidents. Darlene will go back to the office and see if they can get that data for us.
In addition, we will see an increased effort to enforce the speed limit. Our neighbors will be caught in this enforcement and we need to obey the limit ourselves. This speed enforcement is a double-edged sword, but is in the best interest and safety of everyone. Please note that there are also officers on the north side of 175th with speed detectors monitoring cars going too fast down there. So please be careful.
LUT Director, Andrew Singelakis, informs us that there is also a project underway to provide speed feedback for cars entering “the kink” to reduce speeds there and also a project underway to provide a signal to cars at the Rigert intersection to identify when cars are approaching around that bend. No dates have been given, but we are working with Washington County to continue to improve the safety on 175th. We will update you as soon as we get validated information and we thank you for your continued your patient support.
